YES, every home owner has the legal right to sell their property privately regardless of which State they live in but there may be some particular points that apply specifically to a certain State.
Following are the key points you need to know when selling a property in Tasmania:
* Consumer Affairs and Fair Trading Tasmania, provides little to no information about the selling of property privately by an owner.
* When selling or buying property within Tasmania you must use legal representation, such as a conveyancer or solicitor, that is actually located within the State of Tasmania.
* ‘Cooling off’ periods for residential property sales are not recognised in Tasmanian legislation.
* Also, there is no legal obligation for a vendor to disclose any current or potential defects of the property for sale.
